Campings in Platja de Pals
Pals is a small village in the province of Gerona. The village is built on top of a hill like many other places in the area. In the past, that plain consisted of fens and marshes. The name Pals comes from the Latin palus, which means swampy terrain. Later the plain was drained and is now used as agricultural land, especially for rice cultivation.
Like many other places near the coast in the Costa Brava, Pals consists of two parts. The inland part with a beautiful historic center and a part on the coast. This part is called Platja de Pals.
Pals is an ancient village that was first mentioned in history in the ninth century. Pals is known for its beautiful historic medieval center that has been perfectly well preserved over the centuries.
