The popular seaside resorts are countless. Looking for more than a refreshing dive? Spain also has a number of islands where it is good to stay. The Canary Islands, Mallorca and Ibiza are the best known. Furthermore, the big cities like Barcelona and Madrid also have a lot to offer.

    Spanish cuisine
A delicious wine cannot be missed in the Spanish kitchen. Spain is known for its own delicious wines. During your holiday this is, of course, the moment to enjoy. Other typical products are olive oil and dried fruits. Chances are that these are produced in the vicinity of the campsite. Do not forget to feast on the fresh seafood that is processed in the paella and the typical local tapas. Ask for it at the reception of the campsites in Spain.

September, the vintage month in Spain The month of September in Spain means, among other things, wine harvests and the sensational vintage festivals. Taste the delicious wines at the wine tasting and then step into the dance floor with typical Spanish music. Take a look at one of the many bodegas and taste the most delicious wines, which wine lover does not want that? So the month of September is the time to go to Spain on holiday and get closer to the crop harvests, because tourism, wine and good food are a good combination!

Campsites in Spain are often located in the wine regions
The most famous wine regions are La Rioja, La Mancha and of course Jerez, where the famous sherry wine comes from. In the Galicia region you have the delicious white wine Albariño. This white wine fits perfectly with fish and shellfish dishes. Enjoying a delicious sweet wine for dessert? Then the sherry variation Pedro Ximenez is definitely recommended!

    Campsites in Spain: sun-drenched costas
Most campsites in Spain can be found on the coast. This is also not surprising because the beaches and bathing water are of good quality. Young and old know how to find the way to the Spanish coast. One of the most famous coastal areas is, of course, the Costa Brava, which is part of the province of Girona in Catalonia. Save the tent at Platja d'Aro, L'Esterartit or Sant Pere Pescador, because here you will find lots of beach, sea, nature and culture. Such as the Greek ruins of Empúries and the monastery of Sant Pere.

The Costa Dorada, in the area of Tarragona, is especially nice for families. The memories of Roman times are characteristic of this region. Long beaches, with small sheltered bays in soft and fine sand, invite you to relax. In the vicinity of the coast, many activities are possible, such as hiking, mountain biking, horse riding and water sports. Other popular coastal areas for campsites in Spain are the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol. The most famous places in the province of Alicante, on the Costa Blanca, are Benidorm and Alicante. Ideal for a relaxing holiday on the beach. On the Costa del Sol, in the south of the country, the sun shines even 300 days a year. In the villages of Malaga and Marbella, it is therefore good to stay at the campsite.

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, is easily accessible from various campsites on the Spanish Costa. You live Mediterranean life in this metropolis. Plop down on the terrace, enjoying a Catalan wine and a delicious tapas. In Barcelona, the memories of Roman times are numerous, because history and art are closely linked. In 1883, architect Gaudi started with the historic project La Sagrada Familia and until today it is still being built. The result so far is amazing. Furthermore, Barcelona is full of museums and theatres and is one of the biggest exhibitions of Pablo Picasso in the Picasso Museum to admire.

In the Madrid area, plenty of campsites are suitable as a base for the capital of Spain. The historic city square Plaza Mayor is one of the most popular plazas in Madrid. If you continue, you walk past the Royal Palace (Palacio Real), the Plaza de Oriente, theatre of the Opera and the modern Cathedral of Almudena. The extensive parks are typical of Madrid, such as the Juan Carlos I Park. Madrid has traditional festivals during the day, such as bullfighting during the San Isidro festivities. In the evenings, try the atmosphere of city life in the cafes and dance the flamenco.

Malaga is located by the sea and has a fantastic climate for sun worshipers. Start your day with shopping or a cultural attraction. Like the Gibralfaro castle from the 14th century, the Archaeological Museum, the Roman theatre and the historic cathedrals. End your sun-drenched day with a lovely walk along the promenade along the beach.

    More popular Spanish cities
The Spanish cities are very busy and there are too many to mention. Because of the good climate there are always many campsites in Spain. This is how you feast on typical Basque tapas in Bilbao. Here you should also pay a visit to the Guggenheim Museum. Also in the port of Valencia you will find modern art, interspersed with the memories of a distant past, from 138 years before Christ. Also in Seville you will find the charm of beach and sea. The city is characterized by a rich Arab heritage. Folk festivals and world heritage are superfluous.
